Meetups
You’re here, so reading programming blogs is already one thing you do to sharpen your saw. Another excellent way to do this is to attend programming meetups. They’re a great way to learn new things and meet interseting people in your area.
In Tel Aviv, where I live, we have a monthly Python meetup called PyWeb-IL. It’s an evening meetup that usually has 2-4 talks from people in the community about Python and web related subjects. The scope is very liberal, but Python is the main thread that binds most of the talks. Incidentally, my brother is one of the organizers of these meetups, and we usually meet in Google Campus TLV, although the venue sometimes changes.
